need advice on mesh sided cages

bobngale Dec 02, 2006 02:44 PM

i have been looking at some repteriums with screen mesh sides. wouldn’t "chuck" try to climb the walls and possibly get to close to the heat lamps, burning him, or do you gays think the extra exercise would be good i cant decide but I’m getting sick of the big Rubbermaid siting in my living room.

Here is the problem with mesh and all glass. Chucks like space and if they can see out of the cage they think they can go there. In wild caught this produces a lot of stress and some never adapt. They are not like chameleons which will roam a little on a branch but pretty much can live in a much smaller enclosure. Chucks like rock piles and some open area ime. I have seen them run all over the place in the wild. When I caught my large banded male, he was running from one large boulder to the next.
