good eggs or bad eggs ??

jimfmcdonald May 20, 2003 07:00 PM

50% het female breed with 100% het male ,laid these 6 eggs today , one was really small brownish yellow and obviously infertile..these 5 look a bit yellow at one end but have red that looks like its more on the outside ..so i suppose I just wait and see if they start to sweat, smell, and turn green.. what do you think ? thanks, and hopefully in a couple months some albino hogs will peak out of these ugly eggs..

Those look like some I hatched out. The parts that are yellow will become clear so you can see the snake developing in the egg. I still think your perlite looks wet. Good luck! Colby

so what do you have against wet perlite ? I have always used alot of water in my perlite and ive had no problems with it , so what kinds of problems have you had and what is the reason for keeping it so dry ? I also used to use vermeculite by itself and mixed with perlite and i havnt noticed any difference other then the vermeculite sticks to the eggs ..feel free to lexure me on the better was of incubaiting eggs, by the way i dont even have a incubaitor, i just put my eggs in containers and put them on the heat tape with all my snakes and just keep checking that the temps stay in the low 80s and everything has been fine for years..thanks ..
