She's lookin' mighty sweet Michelle. That's definitely one of the best looking buckskin females I've seen, a keeper without a doubt!

lol... I'm with ya on that one, I kinda like 'em too. As much as I look forward to a break in the action, I hate seeing some of them go down for the winter, but hey... that makes for a really exciting spring now doesn't it!

Oh yes, spring I love spring. I can't wait to see what hatches this year it is kind of like my Santa's surprise a little late. I will be pairing up 5 possibly 6 females. Which ones are you pairing this year?

I have a group of 9 females in shape and ready to go, 8 thayeri and 1 mex mex. 7 of the 9 will be making their first attempt including the mex mex, all 7 of these are 2003 females. The 2 proven female thayeri are the melanistic and a Vermilya white leonis. Of the remaining 6, another is a light pastel green Vermilya female, 3 are Vivid females with one being a F1, and the remaining 2 are Jonel Lopez girls.

I'm looking forward to seeing a few nice white, yellow and orange thayeri hatchlings slithering around here along with some interesting mex mex if a little luck comes my way!

Oh I can't wait to see those, I need a white one and a melanistic one. I have a male that is laredo X melanistic, that is in need of a female. Also can't wait to see those mex mex hatch. Did you ever get pictures of your speckled mex mex?

I have three 2005 melanistic X white leonis females from 2005...

Maybe your possible het male would be interested in a possible het female?!! (For lack of better terms)

I haven't photographed any of my animals for a while now, so unfortunately no new shots of the mex mex from Mark's speckled bloodline. Nothing to get overly excited about with these two though. They aren't the ultra speckled versions, maybe 50% speckled at best. It's the potential they have that excites me and they were priced within reason. Still very neat looking mex mex and I'll have good pics of them one of these days.

Yes he made need a possible het female.
Here is a photo of him. You might like to know that he is off of a laredo male breed to a melanistic female. The genetics from the pairing would be fantastic.

Nice pattern, very similar to the male I kept. Thanks for sharing the pic!

And I agree... it would be a very nice match-up. Just let me know if you can't find a nice melanistic female for him. I should always have a few nice possible het females around that he might like to meet. The three I have now are from a Vermilya white male and the melanistic female is exceptionally nice.

Mike,

I know what you mean...a couple of mine "posed" for the camera and left me with some parting shots before spring...

You have a couple of mighty fine looking snakes there Jim, thanks for sharing. I'd be hard-pressed to pick a favorite, love those alternates in the top one. Where did you find those two?
-----
Mike

CSRAJim Dec 05, 2006 11:00 AM

Mike,

Thanks...

Both of them came from Sundial (I guess Loren will be busy this year)...the one with the alternates is the female. Her Dam was produced by Matt (Rio Grande Reptiles) from vchris stock. Her Sire was from serpentdan stock.

The one on the bottom is the male and he was produced from serpentdan stock...

I got both of them last year...

These are pictures of parents for my male (serpentdan stock)...the top photo is the Dam (2001)...the bottom photo is the Sire (2002)

I can certainly see where your female gets her nice alternates, thanks for sharing it all Jim. It really is an exceptional, high caliber pair. If you continue showing them off here, Sundial will indeed be very busy!

I have a Vermilya female with very similar coloration to your male. As good as your new male looks now, he should be one mighty sharp looking adult.

Mike,

Thanks and yes, several folks inquired about them so I thought I'd share the information with everybody else about where I got them...it will just add to the CB Thayeri community and this is good for everybody in my opinion...

Can you post a photo of your female from serpentdan? Would like to see her...

Sure...

These pics are a little over a year old now and she was just turning opaque; pre-shed, so she was just beginning to dull up a bit. She is going into her fourth year now and she hasn't changed at all other than her black borders have faded a little more. She's still 100% speckle-free and the color hasn't changed, not even a hint of graying. When I first saw your male it was like a flashback with her when she was a yearling. If your male matures like her, you're in for a treat.

This is her at 2 years…

Mike, that's a mighty good looking thayeri you have there.

She is certainly one of my favorites, with an appetite that measures up along with her looks. If I can get a large healthy clutch from her next year I'll be pleased.

Mike,

Thanks! She is a beauty...very clean and the "vanishing" centers are a real treat...

I can not wait to see what he looks like at 2-4 years...got any photos of her Sire and Dam from serpentdan? I wonder if they have one or more grandparents in common somewhere down the line...

Her mother is now a member of my collection, and I have pics of both her parents and her maternal grandparents. Hit the contact link and drop me a line.

They are both beautiful, it would be hard to pick a favorite.

I like the reduced saddles on this one. And that whisp of a nuchal caught my eye.
