Cages (Multi-Forum Post)

Would it be possible to make a cage out of acrylic? Would a heat pad melt it? I've been trying to find information online, but I can't seem to find anything about fumes or melting heat. If anyone has news, i'd appreciate it. Acrylic would be easier to make a cage out of, lighter, and sturdier.

you could try screwing it to 1x2 wood strips. Drill the holes first just be carefull not to crack it. If you keep the strips on the outside then you could stack another on top and the space between could be used to run heat tape.

You will probably think I am nuts, But I did some building with plexiglassa while back and at first I kept cracking it as well. I found the best way to keep it from cracking, believe it or not, was to spray the area you are drilling with pam! Yes the cooking spray. It worked every time!

Wouldn't really even need to drill if you just used acrylic glue to bond the pieces.
