The Black Mystery Burm

wstreps Dec 03, 2006 11:52 AM

Back in the late 80`s this black burm popped up and was acquired by Mike Ellard. I took this pic. at Mikes place .I don't have a scanner so I took a digital pic. of the original and it's not quite as clear. The snake does have a very faint underlying pattern but none the less it really was a virtually solid black animal. Mike tried to breed it with a very large 16 ft.albino female that at the time this was probably the largest albino in the states but it didn't pan out and if I remember right the black burm died. Hi Dave,

Awesome snakes man. Let's see some more angles of them and some of you holding them. I know when I have insanely awesome snakes I take more than just one picture. You must have hundreds to post. I would just love to see some more pics of these snakes of yours.

That is funny, I have heard people say the very same thing to you. Many people here have seen these snakes in my hand either at shows or here at my home. Why is it that each time I post pics of my snakes that I own or have owned you spring forward with a comment?

HighEndHerpsInc Dec 06, 2006 06:34 PM

I don't understand why you are so defensive Dave. I just want to see more pictures of the animals you used to own. I'm sure a lot of folks here would be interested in seeing more pics of these amazing animals. Do you not have more than just the one photo?

As far as any animals that I have I always post numerous pictures and if folks want more pics I post them promptly. Or they are all over my website with my kids holding them or breeding pictures, hatching pictures, eating pictures, etc. Plus my photo gallery is chock-full of numerous beautiful morphs from every angle. I always post many different angles. It's really no hardship. Is there anything in particular that you would like to see that isn't there or that I haven't posted before? just say the word and I'll get them up right away pardner.

And lastly, this is a public forum. If you didn't want to receive any comments on your picture, why did you post it here?

Maybe I did jump a little to fast but for the last 10 years I have owned tons of morph burms and retics. It seems like each and everytime I do post photos someone always qestions the ownership so I have to prove it and once I do then I have to hear how it was photo shoped. I then started taking them to shows and other people would post pics and yes then people would post how I paid people to say they took the pics. David do you remember several months ago I posted a pic of a striped retic and you said that I did not own the snake and that you were buying it? Well that snake is in my freezer and has been for a few years. I do have tons of pics but I lack the time to scan them. If I post a pic I own the snake if I don't I will say I don't. I don't post many photos any more because if people know what you have it makes them do silly things like .......Rob you!!!!

Hey David,

I wouldn't mind seeing a clear picture of you holding any of your snakes. I'll understand if you don't have time, but these forums have been quite dead lately.

Thanks!
Ben

Dave sent me this picture and asked me to post it up for him. Sorry I had to make it a little smaller, but if anyone wants to see this picture a little bigger just email me and I'll forward it to you.

Thanks,
Ben

Thats Beautiful! Do you still have them? I also would like to see more pics. Beautiful Burms!!

ldblawson Dec 06, 2006 06:14 PM

The "Ghost Albino" was sold to a Kentucky burm breeder and the Melanistic died after my facility was robbed. The people could not bag it so they slammed it in the cage door several times.

Dollarthegreat Dec 06, 2006 06:17 PM

I don't even have the words for that. I'm sorry that happen to you and your snakes.
