Hey All,
Took some pics today of a few different snakes. This particular Borneo is one of my tentative holdbacks. It seems to be a female, but I've not pressed the issue yet to determine that conclusively. It was born from an egg in the 2006 clutch (with the Ultras) and the one main observation was that the egg was half rotten... BAD rotten! I never expected this egg to hatch, let alone produce a live python. The rotten albumin and part of the yolk was actually bright green and had plenty of 'junk' floating around in there. The REALLY crazy thing was that the snakes skin pigment was also green! Basically, it had a green hue overall (belly was very dramatic). I made a HUGE mistake by not photo documenting this whole ordeal. The snake excreted uric acid liquid and stones for the first couple weeks that were bright green! Almost like anitfreeze. It was the craziest thing I've seen in one of my baby pythons. Even more unexpected was that this half sized baby ate a live hopper mouse on the very first attempt and has been a typical Borneo 'Piggie' ever since. Well, yeah, I'm a proud papa with this one and it's turning into an amazing looking snake in my opinion. It hatched out with such a 'clean' looking pattern and has kept that trend (no significant flecks, etc). The color on the sides of the head up the neck just get brighter and more colorful. Also, the belly is completely clear like an Ultra baby, but it just does not have the same look or pattern that the others I've hatched do. Okay, enough of my long winded speech...
Hope you enjoy the pics!
Matt
