Not tired of the same old argument.................more

Hoppy May 20, 2003 07:02 PM

Maybe I am just refreshed from the few months that I took off from the forum (not because I didn’t want to post, just that I was too busy) but I really am not tired of the Purest/morpher debate at all.
In fact, I find it fantastic that we can all have a different opinion about how we feel the hobby is and in what direction it is going or feel it should go. There is nothing wrong with expressing your thoughts and opinions as long as it is done in a constructive and respectful way. I can see the views from both sides of the debate and I can appreciate the passion that both side show for their point of views. The passion that is shown here on this forum speaks highly of everyone’s desire and commitment to the hobby. Morpher or Purest alike, we are all working with the same basic species of animal and we all love working with them.
I see no reason not to be able to show respect for each other’s views and opinions while still holding true to your own beliefs or thoughts. As most of you know, I am a morpher to the end, but I must admit that the challenge of breeding a true Red tail Boa does seem to appeal to me. I have been considering the Peruvians, but the Brazilians also look incredible too. So does this mean that I will become a Purest breeder…..No it does not, my roots are in Morphs and there they will stay, but I can appreciate the work of most Purest breeders.
My point is simple (for once), this forum is a place to exchange information and ideas and no one should be put down for doing that. You may not agree with the ideas or how they are stated and you even have the right to post a rebuttal, but it needs to always be kept respectful.
Thanks
Jim Hopkins

In Germany there are only a few breeders of morphs (thank God). One of them is Olaf Schal where I have a good relationship to.
He is the breeder of a new morph that I have included in the posting in order to put ointment on your wounds *LOL*

Olaf is breeding morphs, but has also a small collection of true locality specific boas (surinams, for instance).

He told me that he would NEVER cross them with something else. He keeps both projects strictly apart. And that's the way it should be, the way a good relationship between both currents is possible.

Congrats to your thoughts, Jim. I wish you all the best to find suitable animals (if I were you, I would prefer brazilian redtails). I wish you success in your new life as a "part time locality breeder" *LOL*

If he can prove that out I am sure alot of people will be interested in getting one or 2 or 10.. It reminds me alot of the freak boa, or like a calico retic. I didn't know you had any friends over there Herman, especially someone who produces mutated mutt worms Thanks for posting it on here for all to see. Later Randy T.
