Anyone know any good rivers in South or East Tx ?

Sepultura4Ever Aug 07, 2003 10:52 PM

Hey guys I am getting somewhat tired of catching Snapping,RES,and Softshells around here besides the occassional Alligator snapping,Mud Turtle and very uncommon in our area painted turtle this is all I see. I am just wondering if anyone knows of any good and safe rivers to swim in that they have seen Cooters and other kinds of Map turtles in. I have looked in the Colorado,Comal,Guadalupe,Blanco and San Marcos and have had reasonable luck. Thanks for any help.........Scott Wahlberg

try any drainage ditch in Southeast Tx. The brazos river is to big and fast for any turtles. Local ponds and such have many species that I have seen. I've found most of the common snappers in flooded timber. Seasonal swamps.
