Now when I saw the V of prominent pores (e.g. readily noticeable) I assumed she is now a he. Do any females have pores that you can see? "Her" head isn't too large and she has a long slender tail, besides being incubated as female according to the original breeder. ???

Incubated as female???? no such thing when it comes to dragons. Leopard geckos yes, but NOT dragons. Atleast it hasn't been proven that I know of.
As for pores.... I have a female here that I listed one day because I insisted it was a male. All the behaviour, significant pores, dark beard, you name it...... I turned around from the pc and and she was mating with my sandfire male.... guess what? I turned back around and deleted the add for the "male" dragon LOL She has since laid 17 eggs and due to lay again any day now.

My female has very small pores. But males will have larger pores. The one bulge behind the vent is a sign of a female. A male will have two bulges, one on each side of the tail. Here is a good site that tells you how to sex a dragon.

Good luck!

How to sex a beardie

Hey Shannon! Just wanted to say I'm sorry you misunderstood me. I never siad she was incubated for feamle. That is not possible with beardies. I mearly stated she is female. I've talked to several breeders that have told me they have females with larger poors than some of their males. The way you can tell a female beardie is look on the tail side of the vent with the tail pulled back slightly arching it over the back and if you see one bump centered on the tail side below the vent it's a girl. If you see two bumps, one on each side of hte middle just below the vent it's a boy. From the pic you posted I'm sure she is a girl, however, it's possible that I'm mistaken. One breeder in particular told me that she has seen larger poores on the hypo/snow feamles more so than the other strains or bloodlines she works with. Hope this helps and could you post a pic of her? I'd love to see how she looks now. Hope you and the kids have fun this year!
