Milk Snake Eggs Gone Bad?

Cito Aug 07, 2003 11:28 PM

My Eastern milk laid eggs on july 25th and now 4 out of the 9 eggs have mold on them, 3 of the 4 are half way covered in mold and the 4th has a spot about a half a centimeter in diameter. I had to leave the eggs for a week and when i left they were fine and tried to give them plenty of water but the 4 molded eggs are shrivled to half their normal size and moldy, the other 5 are nice and plump with no mold, is there any chance for the molded ones? I tried putting some tinactin on the mold but is it too late?

Sometime eggs can look fertile at first, and turn out to be slugs and go bad. I usually have a very small percentage that do this each year. I haven't had a moldy one hatch yet. Enjoy hatching the rest of them out!

mold never hurt an egg im my clutches. If they have shrunk in size though they are no good. Enjoy what will hatch. Usually my first clutch from a female 50% of the eggs that look good do not hatch. The next clutch is 95%.
