Marble Borneo Pair

keithhamlin Dec 04, 2006 03:25 PM

Just thought I would share some pics of my marbles. They were produced by Michael Kostakos. First two are female pics, followed by male. Enjoy.

Take care,
Keith

Nice looking Borneos! What makes those "Marbled"? I am really confused with some of the terms people use in here. Is there a place I can find a list of recognized morphs for Bloods and borneos? Seems like some people just make up a morph even though the genes do not prove out. Am I the only one who thinks this?

The marbleds where originally named for a marbled/speckly pattern that was on the dorsal of the original marbled borneo. This snake also had speckled sides like the ones in the above post. It seems that the speckled side is the real inheritable trait coming from these animals. Alot do have the "marbled" pattern on the back, but it is not sure how it is inherited. Marbled is considered to be co-dominant and has been proven for around a decade I believe. But then again maybe I'm just making this up, who knows?

Thanks for the info. I see the sides are "marbled" like you said. I am new to bloods and I was just trying to figure it out. I like the previous posts terms "unusual". Seems like every blood is unique, almost no 2 have the same design/pattern/color. Thats part of the reason I am getting into these guys. The oportunity to have clutches of snakes that can look so diverse is awesome. Kinda like thayeri kings.
