Hello all,
I just read the dissapointing post below about the guy who just recieved a cornsnake in the mail and lost it due to regurge issues.
I am new to the hobby and had problems from the start with a neonate reverse okeetee who is also a barf-aholic. I bought all the books beforehand and thought I did everything right when I set up my tank, but I too would have lost my snake if it wasn't for the fact that I have a friend who is a qualified expert who coached me through my first barfing episodes.
When I returned to the books (I have all of 'em), I saw that they did indeed have section on regurge, but I somehow overlooked it all in my excitement to set up the proper temps, substrates, etc...
I think that info on how to treat regurge issues should be taught one-on-one whenever a snake is sold to a newbie. Care sheets don't seem to cut it, and I believe that a verbal talking-to would assure that both parties were aware of how to handle this most common and most deadly ailment.
