Feeding question

Jgirl257 Dec 04, 2006 04:03 PM

Any help would be appreciated. Is it ok to feed a female that's gravid when she is due any day now?
thanks in advance

IMO, if she really is due any day, then wait.

If it's been a while since she last ate and she is acting hungry, then a small meal at most.

What do you consider a small meal? She is at least 60lbs and 10 1/2 feet.
thanks again

Well, at 60 lbs and 10 1/2 feet, she must be eating rabbits. Maybe a large rat or two would suffice as a small meal.

Seriously though, if she's really due any day, I'd wait. No sense adding feeding into the equation so close to parturition (sp?).

And yeah...PICS, love to see the big girls and add to that gravid, she must be huge!!

The 60lbs is from my husband that's what he's guessing. I'll wait to feed her. I'm attaching a photo of her that was taken in Sept, I don't have a recent one of her. Thanks again for your help.

that one.... 60 lbs might be a bit of an understatement if she really is 10 1/2 feet I'd say closer to 80 lbs.

I say that from experience, I had a 10 1/2 foot 60 pounder and yours is definately girthier.

Yea I think a big litter is coming as well. The waiting is killing me. Hopefully the Ghost I bred her to proves out. I'll take pics of the litter when it arrives.
