Water Dish Solutions

nboles1215 Dec 05, 2006 06:30 PM

I currently use 32 qt. Sterilite Tubs and just random bowls for water. The problem that I have is my big guys always tip the bowls over which create an awful smell from the wet newspaper and heat. If anyone has any good ideas or setups let me know.

Thanks

Nick

4" pvc pipe cut to height of disposable 1lb deli salad containers. I havent had 1 tip yet and I have some big girls.

Why not use those ceramic crocks that you can buy at the pet store. They come in all sizes and are pretty heavy. Good luck.

I would agree, however my ball collection is growing by the day and I am trying to keep my costs down. Those crocks are pretty costly.

You're right. I didnt think of cost.

I recently came upon a pretty good idea. Take two deli cups, hot glue one to the bottom of the tub and set the other one with water in this one. Change out as needed. Good luck

Here ya go Nick...a buck at the dollar store. Wider at the bottom so no tipping.

We use the ceramic crocks you guys were talking about. I dont know how large your collection is but we buy ours in cases directly from the pet store, i think the case is normally 100 or so and we pay under .75ea .

I use a 2 cup method. One cup is attached with a plastic zip tie through small holes in tub. The second cup is put in the first cup and change out weekly. Works well for me.
