I'm Purchasing a Nikon D-80 Which Lens ?

fgs Dec 05, 2006 06:39 PM

I'm purchasing a Nikon D-80. 97 % of all the photos I take are of my snakes. Some shots I use on my website and others are sent as JPGs to potential customers.

I am hoping you will be able to assist me in making the right lens choice.

Thanks in advance for all your help.

Does it come with a "kit" lens? My D70s came with an 18-70mm which is a good lens. I just picked up a 60mm f2.8D AF for micro photography. I know this isn't a BP, but this was taken with my new micro.

The snake that is with the pastel is an orange ghost.

If you get the kit, stick with the kit lense unless your really into photography. It will work just fine for you. A macro lense is always great to have, but unless you want to macro in on extremely small items (one scale, eyeball, etc..) the macro mode on the camera itself should be more then adequate for what you need starting out.
