What does this mean?

Some of my babies,during feeding,are constricting the mouse then after 10 min they just leave it,why is this happening?They are F/T and are completely thawed out.Thanks fot any help.

Baby boas will sometimes constrict their food and then become distracted. Especially if you have them in the same rack or even in the same room. They will initially grab their prey and then may notice you feeding someone else. When they notice your vibrations or movements, they may think more food is headed their way and drop their first meal. Simply offer the food again. Sometimes you may need to present the prey 3-4 times. Once they drop it, especially when babies, they may not eat it without you dangling the food item for them. I even have adult boas that will lay their head directly on top of a rat and will not take it unless it is hanging from a pair of tongs. For some boas, it isn't food until it is wearing tongs or hanging from your fingertips. If the boas do not eat after they take the food 3-4 times, throw the food away and let them skip a meal. They will take the next meal.
