Retics breeding this year

cfoley Dec 06, 2006 08:05 PM

Hey guys,

I would love to post pics here, unfortunately my digi cam died. I'm counting on one as an xmas present from myself this year.

Anyway, I have a male het albino tiger, and a female albino tiger.

I just moved to a new home, and have a new snake room. I would like to start cycling them soon.

A lot of people tell me theirs just breed. I have put mine together multiple times, with no activity.

The perception I am getting of cycling is to begin lowering the temps at night only into the lower 70s, then bring it back up into the upper 80s during the day. You do not feed during this time.

Ive also been told you can induce a bit with a light cycle down to 8/16, and misting as you warm back up.

Can anyone add/take away/ or change any of that info?

Thanks,
Chris

I have been told that temperature is not an issue. The consensus from all the breeders I spoke to at Daytona is that when a large female is off feed for more than a month ot two it is a good indication that she is preparing to start a breeding cycle. You should introduce the male when this is happening. They said # of hours light pr/day may help but temps manipulation won't. I have bred them once so I am no expert, I basically did nothing special. I am hoping for Genetic Stripe eggs this year.

Good luck

Chris

That is actually precisely the case. She is refusing food. However, my male seems to have not a little bit of interest in breeding with her. Any ideas?

Thanks
