Crotalus polystictus venom?

Chuck_Ch Dec 06, 2006 10:55 PM

Last sunday I had a slight incident with a lancehead rattlesnake when we (a friend and I) were trying to sex some of them. The 4th snake I took (about 16in long) was the lucky that bite me on the middle finger on left hand. Fortunately (at least to me) it was a dry bite though I received 2 vials of fabotherapics (antivypmin produced here in México -3rd generation antivenoms-) just in case.

The question is about that another friend told me he just read an article where some people are studying the venom of this spp. and the venom could be compared with that of the mojave rattlesnake (u know, with variable ammounts of neurotoxins), but he didn't remember where he read it.

Do you have something about it?
cheers

this is the little fella who forgave my life (at least my finger)
