I think I will start posting a thread similar to this weekly just because woking in a pet shop gives you some great laughs! BTW yes, I got the job working in the reptile department I was hoping for. And yes, I love it! So where to start...>

First thing this week....
A man comes into the shop and looks irritated....

Me: "Is there anything I can help you find?"

Man: "I bought an emporer scorpion here the other day and was told it didn't need a heat pad."

Me: "They should be alright at room temperature. Is something wrong?"

Man: "Well I went out to check on him this morning and he was dead."

Me: "I'm sorry to hear about that. What were the temperatures like in his cage?"

Man: "Well the other guy said he didn't need a heat pad so I kept him out in my shed."

Me: "Well what were the temperatures in there?"

Man: "About 9 degrees....."

That one was my favorite. I also love the people who blow off the iguanas because "We'll just go out to the creek and catch one. They're runnin around all over the place!"

Sounds like he might be kin to my wife. Was he missin' any teeth?

Reminds me of the time I was in a pet shop when a customer brought in a dead, beautiful, full-grown ryukin that he bought a few days earlier. He had called them earlier & they told him to bring it in with a water sample. The nitrogen level was off the chart. The store owner asked the guy what size aquarium it was in.

"It's a 29-gallon tank and I was wondering if it might be too small for the fish and cause the nitrogen level to get too high but the girl that helped me said it would be OK," the customer replied.

"Are there any other fish in it," asked the owner.

"Yeah, 5 medium-sized orandas."

Imagine that, 6 high-nitrogen poopers in one freshly etup 29-gallon tank.

The owner gave him his money back, though. He told him he wasn't going to give him another one because it would just die, too.

I understand mistakes, but some people just flat out have to have it s-p-e-l-l-e-d o-u-t for them.
