I've read that bloods need high humidity and I've read that they need moderate humidity. In my personal experience keeping bloods I've had great success with high humidity(80-90%) and 75-85 degrees temp. I DO take care to provide adequate ventilation though. I use cypress mulch as bedding and have had absolutely no problems, whatsoever. The mulch is never soggy, but remains damp. I've had no occurences of scale rot or RI's. In fact, one of my bloods died from RI as a result of LOW HUMIDITY. It is my belief that one should always err on the side of high humidity with bloods(after all, that is their natural habitat). A blood, in my opinion, will suffer from low humidity much sooner than it will suffer from high humidity. Just be careful to maintain adequate ventilation.
