What camera and lense do you use to get best results for snake pics, preferably outdoors?

Look at this pic, I am desperate

Dave, You don't have to spend a lot of money...I use a Panasonic 6 megapixel...less than 200.00 Whatever you get...get one with the "no shaky thing". I'm spoiled and wouldn't use one without it, makes a big difference shooting animals that are moving.

Canon Digital Rebel. Not terribly expensive and you can get different lenses, flashes, filters, etc.

I use a Canon PowerShot SD 630, They are small but very handy when it comes to photo's. The one I got has a 6.0 Mega Pixels, It also has a 3in LCD display on it. Here are a few pictures that were taken with it. It is a point and shoot camera, But it is easy to use and does have a Macro feature. Hope this helps.

Thanks David

The SUPER YELLOW Yellow belly was produced by me.
Pictures are as follows. Pictured with a normal yellow belly, and a pastel and a fire/yellow belly looking snake.
