This time of year prices will be higher than during baby season because there is less competition, and less animals on the market. $3500 for a hatchling sounds a little high, we have seen 70% white pieds for $2800 at that size. At the same time if the snake is from a reputable dealer and has a guarantee, and looks good, you save 6 months on a 07 baby.

Personally, unless you are looking to get it and simply show it off, the amount of white in a pied has nothing to do with the amount its offspring will have. Presumably a pied that looks like nothing more than a ringer could pop out 95% white kiddos. IMO, get the snake if you like the looks of it and you like and trust the people you are dealing with. If not, pass until you see the pied that screams "I want to come home with you!"

If you are buying the Pied because you really like the look of a high white Pied, and want the thrill of having one, and being able to look at it any time you want, then go for it. If you have cash, you can probably get one for lest than $3000.

If you are buying the Pied because you want to produce Pieds, then you might want to look at a lower white Pied, and spend the difference on another Het Pied female.

If you just eventually want a nice high white Pied, and do not care when, buy a Het Pied female, wait a few years, and buy a Het Pied male, or buy your male Pied then, and produce your own High White Pieds.

$3500 is a little high but if it is one you really like I would go for it. You don't have to worry about the price of piebalds plummeting. It just will not happen with a recessive. Especially one as popular as a piebald.

Down a little but from the $18,000 price we saw 5 years ago...
