I'd like to see pics of big hondurans

Nir Dec 08, 2006 04:35 PM

Title says it all, I've read everywhere that hondos were one of the giants milks with andesiana and gaigeae... I've never seen pics of a monster honduran, so if some of you out there have some humongus beasts let's see pics! hehe (I't be cool to have something to compare to in the pic)

All of this with a please!

is a tad over six foot and she is about 1600 grams.

There was a eight footer once found and its pictured in the old vivarium.

Wow, that girl is really nice!
Say I really like the variety of milks you keep! (saw your website)

I was wondering which milk you prefer working with... Overall I mean! Andeans, Blacks or Hondos... I'm looking in to one of those... I'm really attracted to the black milks cause, well, they are black! hehe, And I have heard they were the gentle giants of milks... At first I was certain about buying a black milk couple but now, the andesiana seem really interesting!

Thanks for the kind words.
You should just get one of each or a pair of each.LOL...
I really enjoy working with all three subs but I would have to say that the hondurans are my favorite. They come in so many patterns and morphs that its really exciting.

I would have to say that the black milks and the andeans are calmer as babies but as adults all three are lap pets (with a few exceptions of coarse).

You would be happy with any of them.

heres a large andean and a large black milk.

Hehe! Thanks for the pics! Really appreciated! I know I have to get the three of them! ahah, but budget tells me I have to get them not at the same time... So no choice, I like the hondos, but the fact that the andeans and the blacks are rarer up here in Canada gives them somewhat of an advantage as starters! hehe

Since Andeans generally come from high elevations, are they like the blacks and need less heat than under Lampros? Or do you keep them at the same temp as other milks?

Thanks for all your answers! It's really nice talking with you!

both the andeans and blacks both due well at room temp.Hondos fair a littl better with a bit more hit.

Shannon, that is spectacular! How many eggs does she lay in a clutch? My biggest fem is 430 grams or so. What is your biggest ghost, if you have any? Derek

shannon brown Dec 10, 2006 06:49 PM

My largest ghost is a male and is about 800 grams. They don't get as heavy usually.

This one has laid 12 and 13 eggs. Not huge clutches like one would think but really big eggs and really big babies.

Shannon, I just happen to have that picture saved you speak of. At least I think it's the same one. This snake is either 8' or those people are only 5' tall and it's an optical illusion.

yes thats the one, thats luis porras holding it up.

I don't think they are made anymore.I haven't seen them anywere in many years.I bought about 70 of them cause they are the best thing ever.I wish I had bought a couple hundred.

I also use a 8oz deli cup for the water and it fits perfect in the water dish part of the hide.

You can't tell by this pic but this girl is 6 ft. This is a picture of her with a clutch of 16 eggs she laid last year. One of the eggs had twins in it. Randy
