Finals are finally final!

PHRatz Dec 09, 2006 09:30 AM

It's been a hectic week because of final exams on top of everything else. I just have not had time to sign on and stay online until this AM.
I hate it when life gets busier than I want it to be! LOL

I took some pics of the baby who in the coin toss ended up with the name Kibbles.
I have had the hardest time getting them loaded onto the computer arrgghhh.. one thing after another.
Anyway I am not happy with this photo but I'll get a better one soon.
This is the baby when it first got here.

Your baby is adorable. He looks a little bigger than mine. I wish mine were a little bigger. I am so nervous about one so small. The best site I have seen so far with great info on set ups and feeding and all in Turtle tailes. They are wonderful and answer any questions you ask. There are loads of pictures of their setups for litrtle box turtles. That is where I got the idea for my vivarium for lil Nickie. After he ate the cricket this morning he dug himself under and I haven't seen him since. I'm wondering if I should dig him up and soak him or something or is it better not to give him so much bothering. Good luck with that Kibbles!

Wooohooo, one step closer to the old cap'n gown! Congratulations!

That looks like one nice little chunker of an ornate. It'll be nice for you to start out with a healthy one for a change

Enjoy! The hatchlings are so comical.

If you rescue another while this one is still young, you'll have to call it Bits.

Ratz, is this your first permanent hatchling box turtle?

Oh Ken thanks for the sentiment but I aren't gradeeating I been there done that, I are teachin' skool not goin' to skool.
I've spent this week grading finals, punching all the numbers into the computer & then getting everything I'm supposed to turn in, turned in. I am so glad to have my life back again.. for now!

I've thought about the possibility of a Bits showing up LOL.
YES this is my first baby box, and my first to begin with in good health.
I raised my western painted from a hatchling and my yellow mud too. They're very healthy boys soon to be 13 & 11 years of age so I'm not too nervous about a baby box.

Kibbles is such a great eater for me! The baby stalks the food & grabs it up like an expert hunter.
Yesterday I gave the baby a little bit of cactus berry & I couldn't believe it, baby ate that too!
What a cutie!!!!

I'm sorry Ratz, I thought that maybe you were back in school on your way to becoming Dr. Ratz, DVM.

Oh I get it now LOL!
In a way I wish it was so but the truth is, I am too freakin' old & decrepit. I don't have the energy to move to College Station & go through all that at this late date. I know women older than me have done it but oy.......
