Amber Corn

Steve_Craig Dec 09, 2006 12:12 PM

Here's some pics I shot today of my amber corn from SMR. Starting to get some yellow all through her background. A hint of things to come.

I haven't kept corns for a while. I'm looking forward to this coming summer to get a couple of juveniles for pets. I want to get an amber and okeetee. Really love the amber and caramel colors.

I'M SO JEALOUS!!! amber is one of my favorites!!! hopefully i will be able to produce some in 08. i wanted to buy a female this year to go with my hypo het caramel in the future, but christmas snuck up on me. and i have put a hold on buying snakes. unless its from someone in VA and reasonable. but i have a feeling that after christmas, i'm going to be looking for an amber female, another blizzard female, and a butter female(to go to my caramel het amel). good thing i have a 3 bedroom house and only 1 is being used as a bedroom, one as a snake room and the other is a "what i dint want o take to the attic" room
so to make a long story short. i love it!!! and its beautiful!

Thanks Kin. And if for some reason you don't have any amber corns in a few years, I may end up producing some. I plan to pair up that amber female with my butter motley male in a few years, so you know I'm right around the corner from you guys. But you very well might have a bunch of ambers before my pair are old enough to breed, LOL

I'M going to try to breed them in 08 and you'l be the first to find out what i get other than me of course!! if not in 08 then sometime in the future b/c i have my hypos and then i have the male caramel i got from the rich show so hopefully someday!! i'm also hoping on getting a female butter one of these days b/c the caramel i have is het amel. which would be exciting but i'll keep you updated!!! we might have to do some swapping this spring if i have anything good

Ambers would be a nice project, though I'm sure you've got plenty of projects keeping you busy.

Ambers are one of my fav's too. I bought ambers back in 2000 and am not hatching amber motleys and amber stripes from double hets i made years back. Heres a pic of my male amber motley. Just goes to show how there color comes out when combined with other morphs.

I think if I remember correctly, I saw your amber motleys at this past Richmond, Va. show. If so, they were gorgeous. I ended up purchasing a couple of emoryi rats from Dennis. The 06 albino emoryi, and the brewster co. Tx. emoryi he caught. It was good seeing you guys this past show.
I agree, I'm a big fan of amber corns. Butters are more popular, but a bright yellow amber is even better looking then a butter, in my opinion.
