Malaysian Blood Python

5rings Dec 09, 2006 04:39 PM

I was moving animals into a new rack and thought I snap a quick picture of this yearling Malaysian female. She was produced by Mike Eckert and her lineage is well documented. Great color and contrast huh? She isnt the friendliest snake in the world (true to her Malaysian origins) but she can be safely moved without getting bitten. Now, if I could get that color and contrast into a fat, striped, docile Sumatran I'd really have something wouldn't I ?

Well documented but produced by Mike Kostakos. She must not like the change. This entire clutch never even hissed for me. Here is a quick pic of the pick of the litter male at one year old. He is staying.

The other two are a little more friendly than she is. I am pretty patient and handle my snakes gently. I dont even own a hook, nor will I ever. I'm sure she'll come around once she has settled in completely.

The male is still very dark but the other female is almost as nice as this one. Their colors have improved significantly since they first arrived.

I knew the line was from Mike Kostakas but I thought you actually produced them. Thanks for the info.

p.s. I don't have any intention of breeding these girls to a Sumatran. I like the blood line and provenance just the way it is.
