happy124 Dec 10, 2006 06:57 AM

Hi! I read on here how to make dragon caves but I cant find it. They even had pictures. I tried doing a search but to no avail. Can someone help me find it or tell me how to make one. I think my dragons would love it. I know there is certain things you have to use so they get hurt. Thank you!!!

You can make dragon caves out of many things, most wood products are usable (besides cedar or fresh pine (kiln dried pine is alright). Ceramics (glazed or otherwise sealed), rocks, bricks, plaster or sculpture plaster, terra cotta, stoneware and similar ceramic clay materials. The important thing is to seal any porous materials with a safe (ie lead free) glaze or finish. IN the case of wood varnishes, make sure they air dry completely and don't smell anymore before putting them into the cage.

I don't remember anybody posting about home made dragon hides, I do remember many posts about home made backgrounds with built in ramps and basking areas.

I think you may mean the platforms on Beautiful Dragons? Theyre made form polystyrene covered in tile grout and painted/sealed. I made one and it looks great but the only problem is I did nto apply enough grout and in a short time repais were needed where the dragons had clawed away the grout and started picking at the polystyrene creating a snow scene in my viv!!

Anyway, link is below.
