Uv lights to close to dragon???

boba fett Dec 10, 2006 10:13 AM

Never really thought about this before but, I use 2 Zoo-med 5.0 uv 24" ....I know that the UV doesnt disperse till 12 inches away from the bulb.. so

Can the bulbs harm the dragon say, if said dragon is able to get around 5-8 inches from the UV ???....

ive recently lowered my lights a little.. my dragons head looks as if its gettin ready to shed...but then it also looks a little unusual..dragon is 5 years old...

So, can the UV lights be too close????

thnKS,
bRAD

Hi
i think youre dragon is shedding
dont matter how old youre dragon is once a while he wil shed.
ok not so ofthend as a young dragon but they do shedd.
a reptisun 5.0 can never be to close .
i have got beardie who climmed on the fixture ok i take them of when i sa it but they never got burned from the amount of uv.
only the mercury lights like a powersun r uvheat can to close and then you can burn youre beardie then you need to read instructions on the paper that is in youre package.
