Heading out there for Xmas. Any good spots for herps? No collecting, just want to get out and do some photography & enjoy some more temperate temps.

Thnx,

It depends on what side of the city you will be on. The northwest side is a little higher and at the edge of the hill country and isn't that productive right now. If it rains and you are far enough into the hills, you could find some Plethodon albagula by flipping rocks/logs.

If you are on the Southeast or south side of town, there should be stuff under cover if you get out and flip. It won't be abundant, but stuff is still around.
The last two weeks have been unusually cool and dry, which isn't good, but at least it is raining now.

If you have a chance, heading down south or southeast of the city can be more productive, particularly if it is warm and we get some rain. Indigos are breeding and are on the move.
