Is it safe to use pine bedding as a substrate? I hear it is resinous and could be toxic like cedar.
Thanks,
Dan

Been using mostly Pine, some Aspen & newspaper for over 20 years with no effects that I am aware of... I would avoid cedar though...

I tried aspen and Reptibark for my Black Rat - she wouldn't settle down with either. Seemed to actively dislike the Reptibark.
Changed to newspaper - viola! Happy snake!
Just my observation.
