I wanted to get one for my beardie and i need some for my smaller snakes. So where would I be able to buy some live pinkies or really young mice for my snakes? Thanks

Live pinky mice are not needed for your bearded dragon except as a rare treat or to help replenish fat and calcium with an egg laying female. For the most part, frozen thawed pinkies are best for bearded dragons.

As for your snake, check the classified under 'feeders' for companies that sell live pinkies. For the most part, not many, if any, online suppliers of feeder rodents will ship live. All will ship frozen. Most snakes will eat frozen pinkies though so that is good to have. If yours keeps refusing frozen, starting them on live may be the only thing you can do. Best thing to do is ask at local pet supply stores if they have live pinkies. Some may have them available. Also, checking local herp groups, newspapers etc may reveal somebody who breeds their own mice for their snakes and they often are able to sell some live pinkies in small numbers. (or large, if they have the room to keep large colonies of mice).

Asking for feeder mice in the appropriate snake forum here at kingsnake.com is a good ideal. Just ask them to email you off forum with information, stating you are looking for names and contact info or websites, for those who know of any body who sells live feeders in your area.

Another good source is reptile shows. Everyone I have been to sold live pinky mice (in fact live mice of any size as well as live rats). Check the events link here for info on shows coming to your area.
