Eryx Johnii has rough dry patches

bugman72 Dec 10, 2006 03:32 PM

I have recently taken on a lovely adult pair of E.johnii (Indian Sand Boa) they were perfect when I got them a couple of months ago but recently they have developed a dusty look between the head scales and there are occasional rough patches of raised scales all down the length of the body. They are feeding well and I am keeping them in aspen shavings, There are no signs of mites or similar - I'm not sure what to do has anyone else experienced this and knows of a cure for what ever it is??
Any help greatly appreciated

Nick

This may not be that helpful, but I have a couple of Kenyans, and I noticed some similar rough patches and whatnot but couldn't find any mites... after another week or so it turned out they were just going through a bad shed, and after a good soak the shed and rough patches came right off without any problems.
