Arthur is losing weight (

kellybee Dec 12, 2006 05:10 AM

Not good, I moved Elvis to the empty viv next door and have stopped feeding her last weekend because he still wants to mate with her. I caught him dragging her round the tank by her top jaw, so she's quietly shedding her skin as the others did before going into the cold room. Arthur seems to eat if you wave it in his face but otherwise he mostly sits quiet under the basking light, I dont want to put crickets in with him as his tail has not yet healed completely from his cricket bite.

I havent weighed him but i can see he is thinner than he was a few weeks ago, I'm going to borrow the scales today and see how he is, he isnt skinny, just definitely slimmer. He's been wormed and is drinking water, and still runs around like an idiot so fingers crossed he's just confused and want to go bed for a few weeks, but I guess it depends on his weight, though he's due a shed so maybe thats all thats wrong.

I'll let you know

Yeah Kelly, many times before they are about to shed / or during, they sleep or don't really have an appetite, then in about 3 days they take interest again in food.

Like you said, just wait it out and see.

He has a bowl of wax worms in his viv at all times, and I've been carefully counting them twice a day, I found that if I reach in with the tweezers and bring his waxies to him he eats them, otherwise he races around like a pillark and ignores the bowl, anyway this morning before I got anywhere near the waxies he decided he was going to try to attack and kill the tweezers, I figured he was REALLY hungry, lol
