Got a pic!

Delano54 Dec 12, 2006 10:20 AM

I finally got a feeding pic. He took the fuzzie backwards so I had to break the legs, though he defecated it. He refuses to eat out of his enclosure so I said what the hell, as long as he eats. Does anyone know how to upload multible pics at once?

Nice looking snake you have. I feed mine in his enclosure also.
If you have a photobucket account or somthing similar you can post the image link to a bunch of pics.

Assuming it was alive... Why on earth would you break the mouse's legs???
That's totally unnecessary as the snake is quite capable of swallowing it whole, even backwards.

1. Taking a mouse backwards can tear the trachea
2. i don't feed live because of him getting injured
3. It is totally necessary because of the damage it could do to my snake, and if you knew better I'm sure you'd do the same
So don't be so quick to jump to the conclusion, don't mean to come along rude but it doesn't take a genius to know.

I have bred amazons many times and watched babies take rodents backwards on many occasions. Never once have I witnessed a problem. Indeed, a fuzzy is so early in the developmental stage that its limbs are soft and hence would fold back on themselves when the snake was eating it. I would not worry in future about this harming your snake.

>>1. Taking a mouse backwards can tear the trachea

Impossible, period.
You need to review your facts here. This is especially important since I believe you are confusing your anatomy.
Furthermore, there is nothing hard or sharp enough in a pinky/fuzzy to tear anything on a snake during swallowing.

>>2. i don't feed live because of him getting injured

It's good you don't feed live, but you needn't worry about those pinkies injuring your snake.

>>3. It is totally necessary because of the damage it could do to my snake, and if you knew better I'm sure you'd do the same

This is the same as you previous point...see reply above.

Um, you should re-read my original post because no where where any conclusion jumped to. I believe I asked a question. But thanks for the info, it was very enlighting.
