Potential?

Sure, it's just a little classic corn from a reptile shop, but I think it's pretty and hope it will develop some color as it gets bigger. Ember is my first corn snake, though I've kept a variety of other species of snakes.

I know this place had some hypomelanistics from their price list, but it wasn't clear to me if this was a standard classic, or was hypo. He(?) has a checkerboard belly, but it's in dark gray right now, rather than a pure black. I'll have to get a shot of that sometime. In any case, I have only the one snake, and no time, money, or room to get into breeding them, as fascinating as that may be.

looks hypo-ish to me the cool thing about hypos is they change when they age and the black almost disapears!

its kind of hard to tell if it is hypo or not.
BUT..either way it is a little beauty and hypo or normal it will definitely develop more color as it ages.
You will get a pleasant surprise with just about every shed.
enjoy.

Hypos are quite variable - some looking almost like normals, while others looking like dark-eyed amels. That could be a hypo, but like Jimmy said, it's hard to tell. Definately a nice looking corn though!
