First snakes

mullinsn2000 Dec 12, 2006 07:14 PM

After 5 years I finally convinced my wife to let me get a snake (or 2). Can someone tell me are these normal cornsnakes or are they a special color morph. Sorry for the bad pics, can't find the digital camera so I had to use my phone. Also, what should the temp be on the warm end. I have it currently at 87-88. Thanks

If lead paint is so deadly why do they make it so delicious?

Ok if 87 is hot, then let me ask this question, why use a UTH then if you want it 75-80? My toad tank with no heat source is about 70. Wouldn't a low wattage heat lamp get it to 80? Just a question, not being a smart*ss or anything like that. I am new to snakes and have read all the care sheets I could and I thought I saw that the warm side was kept at 85 - 90. Thanks for the info. Any idea on the color morph or normal question?

It is hard to see the colors of the one in the shadow of the bowl. The other appears to be red, orange/white. It would be an amel (albino).
the one by the bowl, if it is red, tan-ish, might be a hypo. What do the belly scales checker board look like? black or a faded gray/brown?

Here are a few more pics of one of the snakes. Maybe someone can tell me if it is a normal or a color morph from this pic. Thanks
