Ringer X Ringer

dzbreptiles Dec 12, 2006 08:27 PM

I am wondering what if anything comes from a ringer to ringer breeding. Is the ringer trait ginetic? If so is it a simple recessive or something thats just past through selective breeding. Also what results would a Yellow belly have if breed to a ringer?

Thanks,

Jeff

I breed ringer to ringer this past year that were brother and sister and did not get anything crazy back. But i do have 1 male the is 100% het Ghost 50% het pied and also has a huge bullseye ringer on his side. Last year we got 3 clutches from him, 1 clutch was 9 eggs and all were ringers, another clutch was 6 eggs and no ringers, and the last clucth was 8 eggs and only 2 or 3 ringers. I dont know if it is genetic or not, but we are breeding him again this year and will hopefully have more information later next year. The mother ringer that i had breed to her brother, i am breeding to a fireish male this season, that threw weird offspring last year, hopefully something interesting will come from this paring.

Thanks Kim, my male ringer is poss. het Pied with markers, but shortly after I bought him I picked up a pair of 100% het pieds. He may end up being a great first pet for my son. we'll see.
