King Will Not Eat

kshaw04 Dec 13, 2006 12:59 PM

First, thanks to everyone who answered my question about the dry skin. I soaked the snake as advised and now he is begining to shed.

I have another question for everyone though...

My King has not eaten in about 4 weeks now. Before now he has eaten about every week to week and a half with no problem at all. Could this be due to the winter season? I know that some snakes loose their appetite at times. How long should I let this go on without being concerned?

Any help is greatly appreciated...Thanks!

This time of year (Oct-March) colubrids have a tendency to want to brumate irregardless of temps. Keep the snake cool and resume feeding in the spring.
