i'd say they mostly will not calm down...
I will have to agree with TheNothing. I have a few that are OK outside thier enclosue.I have others that I have worked with for a long time that attempt to bite me almost everytime I take them out. They are cool snakes but for the most part they are just for display.
Welcome! Another agreement on atb temperaments. I have some that I can free handle with very little fear of getting nailed, some that are middle-of-the-road where I have to really pay attention to the head and some that are absolute monsters. Of course your best bet is with a true cbb baby that has been handled from day one.

I agree with everyone else. Mines a cbb animal and it doesnt hesitate to bite.
I did have a wc atb that was actually pretty good.
