Mating bp's...what next?

ksslithr Dec 14, 2006 03:48 PM

I did not plan to breed and was told my two pythons were female. I have just recently found out they are male and female and have been copulating for close to two weeks. The ball python guide mentions spring, and warm temperature breeding times but this is winter. Could my snakes be mating at
this time? I really didn't intend to breed and am not sure what to do now.

Congradulations almost. The first thing I would do is give them each there own home. Your male will try to breed her all the time. (Men) If you want to put them together in 3or4 weeks fine. If you see them locked up.When there done, remove him. If no breeding after 3 days also remove him.( he needs rest).A great place to go for info is. http://www.ballpythons.ca/gallery/breeding.html
Good Luck and enjoy the breeding season.
