pet shop find !

bellapython Dec 14, 2006 05:35 PM

My local pet shop got in 2 adult balls from 2 separate people who didn't want them anymore. They put them together & they locked up. The female had some blood by her vent so I know they mated.
I got her for $150. I weighed her when i got home, 1,700 grams. She's a pretty normal, reduced pattern with a light colored head & she is very docile.
I'm thinking of waiting a week & putting her with my male pastel.
If this breeding took, how long before she lays eggs?

She will have to ovulate before she lays .If she doesnt go this year you always have the pin male. Thanks again Terry

Before you think about breeding I would consider a period of quarantine for the new animal. I generally wait 6 months before introducing a new animal to my collection unless I am 100% sure of its health. With a pet shop find that is not generally possible. Quarantine and try her next year with your pastel. If she lays this year from the initial copulation then its a bonus.
