The New 10 Gallon Tank

BryanR. Dec 14, 2006 07:16 PM

Below is a picture of the 10 gallon tank prior to completion of the waterfall on the left. I just finished my semester, and am beginning work on the waterfall system now.

This picture was taken 12/10/06, 2-3 weeks after planting. I reccently moved the plant back left to the front right, since the waterfall feature was going in the back left.

All the plants are doing great, the Java Moss is starting to grow across the log, and with the waterfall feature, it should really start to spread.

So far, so good. It seems a little sparsely planted now for most tastes, but with time, it will fill in. (I think we tend to over-plant at first, and this just gets a bit messy before you can trim back, remove and sort it out.) It will work perfectly well just as it is. There may be some surprises growing on the cork bark in the future, provided you didn't totally sterilize it before you introduced it. That's a perfectly good beginning in my opiniion.

Yea, I didn't want to over-crowd it at first, I wanted to see if it would grow out. I will probably add 2 more plants though soon.
