CRB UPDATE!

coluberking25 Dec 14, 2006 08:56 PM

Well I did everything you guys said. The lights are gone(even though when you go to check it out it looks like it's an unoccupied cage because it's so dark lol). Well things are going very well now. I put the probe under the dirt in the warm end and it is in the 70s now, though it's still on the rise because it takes about 6 hours to be in full swing. The glass piece wasn't big enough to cover the screen entirely, so I also put a towel on top so there's only an 18 inch strip about an inch wide left uncovered. Any way I know the cover is working because I see the glass fogging up now. Now all I need is a hygrometer and I'm in full swing. Thanks alot to everyone here who has helped me with this guy/gal. Now there's only one problem left: what am I going to name this snake?

Sounds like everything is falling into place for you. From personal experience, the best way to control the humidity is to control the amount of ventilation. Try to avoid soaking your moss unless you plan to change it quite often for mold reasons. I just spray their hide a few times a week and the rest of the vivarium maybe once a week unless he or she is in shed. You'll sleep better tonight and I wish the best.

Sounds like everything is headed in the right direction. And, you sound a little more relaxed. Why don't you name her "Serenity" to remind yourself that this is a hobby and is meant to take us away from the stress of everyday life. Or, you could name her "Chaos" to remind you what you went through to set her up.
