So i have had my 2 corns breed last year. The female is Snow and the male Anery. If out of the 9 neonates only 1 was anery is it safe to assume he is het for amel?

Any help would be appreciated.

>>If you got all snows and one anery then yes the anery was het amel.
a snow (amel/anery) bred to an anery het amel will produce snows and anerys.
Amel is short for amelanism. Amelanism is a complete lack of melanin (black) This results in brighter remaining colors and red eyes.
When you combine amelanism (removal of black) with anerythrism (removal of red) you end up with snows (white, or mostly white)

I think Mack was referring to the one anery hatchling.
Yes, the anery should be het for amel, if it's siblings were snows.

The parent anery had to be het amel to get the outcome he did.
and yes the lone anery would be het amel also

All the snows are Amels. The Snow X Anery het Amel pairing will never hatch "just" an Amel. All Amels will always be Snows. Both parents are Anerys so they will never produce a non-Anery together.

Also to clarify something else that was said, the fact that the siblings are Snows do not dictate that the Anery is het Amel. He is het Amel because one parent was an Amel (the Snow). Many times people think of "Snow" as one trait when really it is just an animal that is an Anery AND an Amel.
