Quarantine Periods.

AndrewFromSoCal Dec 16, 2006 02:12 PM

Is the quarantine period for my own observation, or for seperation purposes? I mean, if I got 2 females from 2 different locations, should I still quarantine them? Thaaaaaanks.

I think you should Quarantine any new geckos you get for at least 30 days is the shortest, but 60-90 days is best.

Quarantine is so that you can determine that they're healthy. If one has a parasite or a disease, you don't want it passed to the other. Keep them separated until such time as you are certain that they're both parasite and disease-free. If one or both are sick, you will probably be able to tell within a month or two, thus why people recommend at least a month of quarantine.

If I am getting two females from the same place that were housed together, should I seperate them still?
