I have a female that had her first copulation on 10-19-06 and appeared to have ovulated not totally positive. She is definitely going to shed in the next few days. What are your opinions on this being her prelay shed ? I was expecting eggs around the end feb , Is it common to have multiple sheds during breeding ? She seems to not be interested in the male lately and is staying tightly coiled most of the time. Thanks to all that take the time to reply. Good luck to you all this season!!!

Get your incubator running It's probably the prelay shed. I wasn't expecting eggs til January at the earliest and my girl laid a couple days ago...after shedding a couple weeks ago. I hadn't seen ovulation so I thought she just wasn't gravid...wrong!

Google "breeding ball pythons" and you'll find several breeders sites with some good information on how to tell if your snake is gravid.

My "big" female is going through the exact same thing! Gained 300g's since 9/28 with only 4 VERY small rats! Just went through her POS a few days ago. BUT she is still interested in the male and he in her. I left him in there for about 3 extra days and then removed him and introduced her "nesting box".
