Purple Blizzard

ritchie902 Dec 16, 2006 09:51 PM

Hi, I'm curious if anyone knows what blizzard geckos look like when they are incubated at cool temperatures? My friend has an all purple leopard gecko and I'm wondering if it is a blizzard incubated at cool temps or if it's just some genetic mutation? Thanks.

if it really is a true purply color your friend may have a very rare gecko! i have never heard of one. i have seen midnight blizzards where they look gray-balckish. if it just has purple areas though that may be a bad sign. tremper's website has something about purple areas of the skin. i cant remember what it was or maybe im totally wrong and it was a different color, it was a long time ago. the website also tells about the incubation temps and how it effects color but i dont like to risk the fact that i could kill the eggs in the process or have a deformed gecko.

Yeah, my midnight goes a frosty purplish-grey during the day, and then darkens up at night. kinda interesting, I've never had a leo that darkens or lightens as much as she does...
