Shelf question

Bezzerra Aug 08, 2003 01:08 PM

My husband is going to build Arwen a cage next week 4'L X 3'high X 2' deep. It will be a smaller version of the one he built for our burmese python. (Pictured below). I've read some posts on people building shelves inside the cage. How big should the shelf be? Should they be placed in a corner for stability? What do I build for her to climb up to it?

i imagine you could make one that has a whole different floor to it, with just a ramp leading up to a large hole in the floor leading to the second level, and like it was said yesterday, make the top the basking area, and the lower floor the cool area, i think that is a great idea providing the dragon knows to go tot he bottom through a hole. what i would do is probably make a shelf that is half way to the top, accross half the tank. so a shelf 1.5 ft up and half way accross the length of the tank, then a ramp or branches that they can climb to the lower level, the top shelf would be a basking shelf and the lower area a cooler area..with their food etc. just an idea hope that all made sense...
