First off, I never owned I rainbow boa of any kind. I have heard of IBD in boa constrictors, but not in rainbow boas. Have anyone here heard of or experienced IBD with E.c.c or other subspecies?

I have no first hand experience with IBD. Here is what I've read:
1) It's VERY rare.
2) It's suspected to be caused by a retro virus.
3) It affects both boas and pythons.
While I've never heard of it occurring in and Epicrates, i don't see why it wouldn't if given the opportunity.

...based on what I've read in a book by the great Dick Bartlett, IBD can possibly occur in ANY type of boa or python. And the sign of IBD is usually when the snake looks like it is looking up in the sky. That's all I can say. HHope it helps.
