More Breeding Concerns...

Hey guys....I think maybe I just worry too much. Anyway..

I had planned to begin cycling my retics. However, I have been told if the female goes off food for no reason, and the male avoids his hotspot and stays on the side of his cage closest to hers, it may be time to introduce. Mine are acting in this manner.

When I put them together, they show no interest at all and stay on opposite sides of the cage. However, Ive also been told that I may never witness copulation as they do not spend as much time and may be more secretive.

So I have to wonder....do I continue pairing them? Or may I proceed with my cycling?

Thanks,
Chris

I would continue cycling. IF they're on opposite sides of the cage, they're not ready.

While you may not witness actual copulation, you will witness courtship, and like I said above, being on opposite sides of the cage isn't courtship.

Have a good one!

It is said that 1 out of every 4 people are mentally unbalanced. Think of your 3 closest friends, if they're normal, then it's you.

Yup. When introduced, they check each other out...sometimes curl up for a bit...but inevitably end up on the other side. I notice no attempts from the male courting. He is proven too, so I suspect when he is ready, he will do is thing. In that case, I will proceed to cycle them.

Thanks for your help.
